So OVFF came and went, and a good time was had by all. The bad news is that Toyboat did not win the Pegasus Award for Best Performer. But, overshadowing that, the good news is that we performed the song "Paper Worlds" by Talis Kimberley, joined onstage by Talis herself. The song tied for Best Filk Song, too! So it would seem that your esteemed webmaster is a bit behind in the news. Let's see if we can make up for that...
Toyboat will be at the Ohio Valley Filk Festival (OVFF) from October 24-26, 2014 as a Pegasus Nominee for Best Performer! The Pegasus Awards are presented annually at the OVFF Saturday evening banquet to recognize and honor excellence in filking. This is Toyboat's third nomination in the Best Performer category. Fans who are interested in voting (we presume you've attended at least one convention sometime in your life) for this year's awards can fill out an online ballot through midnight on Sunday, October 19th, or vote in person at OVFF no later than Friday, October 24th, at the close of the Nominees Concert in the evening. The full list of nominees is here, and the ballot is online here . Sound clips of all nominated songs, songwriters, and performers are also available on the OVFF website.

find a way to be just as loud and aggressive acoustically!

After a bit of time off this summer due to family (chosen and biological) illnesses, surgery (good thing Mike doesn't play guitar with his feet, although he may argue that point...), and just lots of other life (don't talk to me about life...), starting in the fall, Toyboat will be back louder than ever!
Here is what we have so far!
This year's Windycon
(November 11-13, in Lombard, IL) marks the return of Tomboat.
We are also Filk Guests of Honor at SFContario
in Toronto, November 18-20.
